Happy New Year......The Green Family

by teresa

We had a great night. Went to The inlaws for dinner (yummy pulled bar-b-que, beans, slaw and chips) and sat around chatting and laughing about things of old and things of new. Remembering our loved ones who have passed on...but have left impressions on our lives never to be forgotten. Crazy things we did as kids...and things that our kids do that drive us crazy now (what goes around comes around). We came home and made our fire. Unfortunately Lauren bailed on us to attend a youth group function....but I ate her share of marshmallows :0) We sat around it with the boys for a long time (until my eyes were burning from the smoke). We talked about things we could do better in 07 (be more active, read more, show love to others,etc). Mom, Nick, Ben and I lasted until midnight. Chris just couldn't hang. He ended up going to bed at 11:40pm. How can you go to bed with only 20 minutes left? We went outside and yelled Happy New Year and banged on our pots and pans. 2007. Wow. It's hard to believe. The boys have gone up to put on pjs and I am heading after I post this. I am sad that school will be starting Tuesday. We have had such a fun time with the kids (and Chris) off this past week.

A New Year’s Prayer from us to you...

May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most, and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.
